Stephen Duffy, M.A.

 Mr. Duffy brings a broad background in applied social science to Trial Behavior Consulting, with experience in litigation, public affairs, and consumer research. At TBC, Stephen's responsibilities include case research and analysis, juror profile development, jury selection, shadow jury research, witness preparation, and post trial interviews. He is particularly experienced in medical malpractice, having assisted defendants in more than 60 such cases. He also has extensive experience in product liability, premises liability, personal injury, wrongful death, and labor law.

Prior to joining Trial Behavior, Stephen worked for a boutique communications firm in Orange County specializing in litigation and political research. He has moderated dozens of focus groups and implemented and analyzed numerous public opinion surveys at the national, statewide, and local level. Stephen has also presented on a variety of topics, including deposition preparation, recurrent themes in medical malpractice litigation, and the influence of demographic factors on verdict choice.

Stephen has a pair of degrees in political science: a B.A. from the University of California, Santa Barbara and an M.A. from California State University, Fullerton. While obtaining his master’s degree, Stephen was named his department’s “Outstanding Graduate Student.” His academic research focused on American political development and voter migration.
